Our Missions and Actions

THE ROADMAP

Naming the pain or assigning an adjective to parents who have lost a child.

Recognizing as a form of violence against women the subtle attacks on women who are longing to have children.

Acknowledging illnesses related to painful periods and ovarian cysts like endometriosis.

Organizing events to spotlight exceptional women from Overseas Regions, to present the "Rosa Park" award or the "From Shadow to Light" award.

Creating a day dedicated to celebrating Overseas Women (Overseas Women's Day).

Fighting against the use of opioids.

From Shadow to Light

In 2012, I led the first event "From Shadow to Light," which naturally found its place within the National Assembly, during the "Year of Overseas Territories," dedicated entirely to the fragments of France scattered across the five oceans.

Despite challenges, contrasting with the shadow, we managed to highlight the feminine talents rooted in the lands of the Guadeloupe archipelago, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion, Mayotte, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy.

Sharing histories and destinies, women from Senegal and Brazil, attracted by our approach, joined our journey from shadow to light. UNESCO played a key role in facilitating the emergence of our event.

With clear insight, we included women from different hemispheres to respond to the creolization of our societies at the heart of "Tout Monde" (Whole World): While tensions arise with change, an undeniable truth emerges from our daily realities.

It's the diversity of individuals and cultures that enriches our world and heals its rifts. Each woman recognized by our association is like "Kintsugi," fruits of broken cultures whose flaws are bonded with gold to recreate fabulous personalities: That is what we are a product of!!!

After more than 10 years now, we witness similar initiatives to ours, and we are pleased about this. We are ambitious to continue even further on our path...

The fight for equality in treatment, wages between women and men, and opportunities is a shared struggle, regardless of our place of origin. Sadly, in the wake of environmental, social, economic, or health crises we face, inequality remains deeply ingrained in our ecosystems. Glass ceilings still need to be shattered to allow the emergence of talented women from overseas territories.

And to break these ceilings, we must draw inspiration from the strength of our mothers and combine our talents so that the future will be brighter for those who follow us.
